Elections 2011 in Kashmir

The Pakistani side of Kashmir usually called Azad Kashmir is a very peaceful and serene place it is sometimes also compared and related to the Paradise on earth. The Lovely People of this beautiful valley are very politically aware despite it being a very remote area. The Elections for the Azad Kashmir assembly which elects the government of Azad Kashmir are held separately not with the general elections in Pakistan.
Of the 41 directly elected seats for the AJK Legislative Assembly, 29 are based on the constituencies located within AJK itself and 12 represent the Kashmiri diaspora all over Pakistan. Nine of them are in Punjab, two in Sindh and Baluchistan, mainly Karachi, and one for the Kashmiris settled in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
There are also eight reserved seats, of which one is for representation for Kashmiris living abroad, mainly in the United Kingdom. The remaining reserved seats include five for women, one for technocrats and one for the ulema.

Interestingly the PPP fought back. The surprising speech of President Zardari just days before the elections in which he openly mentioned Mr Nawaz and retorted to all his recent allegations of mismanagement and corruption.President Zardari attacked the "mindset" of the opposition and blamed them for all the troubles Pakistan has faced and is facing including the one big issue of "Power & energy crisis "
June 26, 2011 Assembly Election on 37 seats were held. Total seats were 41 but election postponed due to poor law & order on 4 constituencies of Karachi Lahore & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistan-India talks on the bureaucratic level

Dawn All About Lifestyle begins today
Dawn is proud of the fact that it was founded by the founder of the Nation Mr Jinnah and have always kept his ideals and principle as the guiding light and even when under financial pressures and desires to make some extra cash for survival or expansion it was forced to support the builder mafia of the big cities like Karachi and Islamabad. The guilt ridden Dawn group started a bi-annual event at the expo center for the twisted generation that live in ever growing concrete jungle

Happy Birthday Benazir
The President of Pakistan Mr Asif Ali Zardari on the sad occasion of mohterema shaheed Benazir's 58th Birthday speaking to a large gathering at Benazir's ancestral place Noudero in Larkana openly criticize the opposition and the mind set of those who killed his dear wife and are against Pakistan.
Now the speech has nothing new to offer and some might even call it an election rhetoric on the request of Pakistan Peoples Party Kashmir and the women's wing or maybe the CEC of the party but what i feel listening to this speech is that Mr Zardari still has a soft corner for the now leader of the opposition and once his coalition partner and ally.He called Mr Nawaz shareef of Pakistan Muslim league(N) a Moulvi..which is not an abusive term in any national or regional language or slangs in the entire south asian sub continent and the far east.Infact this arabic word denotes respect in the entire muslim world and especially in the central asia where mr zardari recently visited.

So who is in charge.....?

Unfortunately Pakistan is going through the worst energy and power crisis of its entire 60+ years history so technologically speaking it is not possible to keep in charge all the time.and especially during the unbelievably expected and harsh power shut downs and loadsheddings.

Pakistani mariners freed from somali pirates captivity after paying ransom of 2.1M $
This incredible saga of Pirates of Somalia has been more popular in Pakistan in the past few months than johnny Depp or the Pirates of the Caribbean latest release. The issue was highlighted by a private television channel when it showed a young Pakistani girl's appeal for the release of her father Captain Wasi .Televsion viewers throughout Pakistan and Pakistanis all around the world had tears in their eyes when they saw this young girl on their television screens saying that she wants to sell her kidneys to pay the ransom for her father. The nation was sad and enraged.Usually the ports and shipping in Pakistan is the terrain of the MQM as they hold the ministry in federal cabinet since the days of former President Musharraf. It is believed that they never compromise on this ministry under any circumstance.I personally believed that this drama has something very political if not fishy..to do with the holding on or regaining the ministry.Anyways when we have no proof only the suspicion we in Pakistan usually say "Wallah-o-Alam bis sawab"(only Allah knows best)

Its Budget time again.....
I really don't know why the government of Pakistan prepares and presents the annual Budget for approval of the Parliament in the scorching heat of May/June in the middle of the calender year. But whatever are their reasons it is that time again.
Economics is a very tough subject and honestly i was never able to fully study and understand it on the micro or macro level. And Pakistan's economy is absolutely out of this world.I don't think that there is any institution in this world that can make you an expert on Pakistan's economy in years and decades. Only a calm and positive approach could lead you to understand some aspects of the economy provided you have a very good sense and understanding of the geo-political scenarios of the past, present and future.
