Happy World No Tobacco Day 2011

It might come as a surprise to most that Pakistan has a culture of Tobacco use in so many varied ways. The People of Pakistan usually smoke as well as chew tobacco. The use of tobacco as a Recreational drug
is very common among all age groups male and female Pakistani's.But what is more interesting is the fact that even the Urban and Rural ,Educated and illiterate,Rich and Poor divide so pathetically prevalent in  the Pakistani society does not effect the rate and quantity of Tobacco Use in the entire population of Pakistan.
The Major Players of the Tobacco Industry in Pakistan are the Pakistan Tobacco Company and Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited (Formerly Lakson Tobacco Company Ltd.)
Another very interesting fact is that there is a very strict ban on smoking and cigarette advertizing on the Pakistani electronic media which saves the tobacco industry from wasting money on sponsorships and advertizing.Kids learn to smoke or use of tobacco in other forms socially from their parents, families, friends , neighbors and co-workers.Pakistani's don't need to see the multi-million rupees Ads to lure them towards smoking and tobacco.
